Jess Moses is the creator behind the healthy food Instagram feed Freshly Snapped.

Born in London, Jess now now spends her time in Phuket and Melbourne. After spending two years working as the events and digital media manager at Deliciously Ella, Jess went on to become the co-founder of the revolutionary and award-winning, smoothie bowl company NanaBowls.

She is a strong advocate for healthy living, skin health and hormonal balance and loves sharing her tips and recipes with her followers.

When did you launch FreshlySnapped and why?

I started FreshlySnapped back when I was in University. It was the first time I was properly cooking for myself and I became aware of the food I was buying and eating.

As my passion for cooking grew, so did my creative passion for food.

Just as much as I loved healthy food, I also loved the styling and photographing of it too.  So instead of annoying everyone on my personal account, I decided to commit to being a real “Insta-foodie”.

How would you describe your blog and feed?

My Instagram is really just a representation of what I eat. It’s 90% food that I’ve either cooked or enjoyed at a café. The rest of it is pretty much just sunsets and selfies. Healthy eating can sometimes get a bad rap for not being delicious. My mission is to create healthy meals that look drool-worthy… it’s all about textures, brightness and saturation for me!

What are you learning from your Instagram journey?

Instagram is such an incredible space to be a part of. It’s a space to build a healthy community and meet like-minded people.

It always feels very supportive. I’ve actually made tons of Instagram friends which I’m so grateful for!

Describe your upbringing and how important was healthy eating?

Food has always been as massive part of growing up for me. Coming from a traditional Jewish family, food was always at the forefront of any family gathering or festival.

Healthy eating however was never a massive thing. It was not until I was left to my own devices at university where my personal passion for healthy food and cooking grew.

What is the mission of FreshlySnapped?

My main mission for FreshlySnapped is to share delicious food and recipes without all the sugary business. Living with PCOS and having struggled with skin and hormonal issues, it’s very important for me to keep my sugar intake down, even the natural sugars.

So I’ve made it my mission to create recipes without the sugars, that still taste and look delicious!

There are hundreds of women battling with hormonal issues, so I just hope I can try to help these women take charge and find balance again.

Tell us about NanaBowls?

NanaBowls is a passion project which myself and my business partner, Phil, created a year ago. It’s the only smoothie bowl company based in Phuket, Thailand…. And one of the only responsible smoothie bowl companies in the world. It was born from a love of smoothie bowls and a passion to spread a healthy message.

Our personal values of keeping sugars down apply the same to NanaBowls too.

NanaBowls contain no added sugar- not even dates, maple syrup or honey. They’re dairy and gluten free, high in plant-based protein, vegan friendly and 100% natural. They’re as thick as ice-cream and obviously 100% Instagramable!

What is your mission with NanaBowls?

Our mission with NanaBowls is to educate others on the importance of healthy eating. Too often we are seeing smoothie bowl companies laden their bowls with fruit juices, syrups and even refined sugar.

Although these in moderation are not bad, eating tons of these bowls for breakfast every day will eventually leave you feeling sluggish and drained. We just like to create a different spin on smoothie bowls in the hope of sparking an awareness into healthy eating.

We have launched NanaBowls in schools which is an amazing step for us to be able to impact kids’ nutrition too!

Why did you decide to collaborate with Glowcation?

Café hopping is my jam! Honestly, if there’s a new cafe or restaurant opening, I’m there. I follow TONS of amazing cafes on Instagram which always inspire me, so whenever I’m on holiday, I make it my priority to explore all the hotspots and tick them off my bucket list.

Being able to then share these finds on Glowcation is pretty awesome, as I know I myself would love to refer to a central guide for all the best spots!

What are you excited about?

I’m excited to see where NanaBowls will go to next… who knows, maybe even global! I’m excited for new opportunities, meeting new people and discovering new places.

Living in Thailand has really opened up my eyes to a whole new world. I’m a strong believer that the right thing will happen at the right time, when it’s supposed to. So it’s just up to us to enjoy the journey!

What are the top 5 things in life that make you glow?

NanaBowls have got to be top of that list. Then it’s living in the sunshine, discovering new eateries, HIIT classes at Unit-27, and play dates with my gorgeous nephews.
