NantucketNativ Made, the best vegetarian and vegan picnics

Nantucket is a dreamy island off the coast of Cape Cod that is reached by ferry or plane and home to Nativ Made.

We arrived by boat, pulled our suitcases off the luggage trolleys and walked into a world of cool East Coasters in denim cut-offs and Nantucket sweatshirts.

The island is packed with cute stores, wild beaches and a museum narrating the whaling history which we highly recommend.

It’s picnic perfect everywhere you go. And Nativ Made is a must visit plant-based grab + go on Nantucket’s Broad St.  Everything is made in house. They support local farms. Their delicious organic food and juices are perfect to take to the beach or on a boat ride to visit the local Atlantic Grey seals.

The setting

Nativ Made is to go only so don’t arrive expecting tables and chairs. It’s on a busy and fun road sandwiched between the most famous ice-cream parlour on the island and a bike hire shop.

The little things

Nativ Made is a way of life, an ethos and their branding is splashed over some must-have merchandise including cool T -shirts and reusable water bottles.

The kale crisps were some of the best we have ever tasted and we tucked into them on the ferry back to Cape Cod.

The fresh juice test

There is a wide range of cold pressed juices. We went for a refreshing mix of cucumber, kale, spinach, swiss chard, collard greens and lemon.

It was totally refreshing on a hot August day.

What we ate

We had the kale and tahini salad with sesame seed, garlic, lemon, cider vinegar, liquid animos and nutritional yeast.

Plus, the guacamole with lime, cumin, cayenne, onion, garlic, jalapeno, cilantro and tomato along with chia, sunflower, sesame seed, pepita and garlic crackers and finally spinach Kale and whole grain chips.

What else?

Nantucket is one of our favourite islands ever to visit, so to find a cute plant-powered grab and go just made our trip.

Just round the corner from the store is Follain, a natural beauty store which is full of a carefully curated chemical free edit of some of the best clean brands in the world.
