When it comes to chic cafes in Thailand, the Origami Café in Rawai is one of southern Phuket’s hotspots.

The Origami Cafe is my go to café if I need some inspiration on a laptop day or when I want to indulge in an all-day-breakfast menu at the weekend.

The cafe is based in the Saturday’s Residence; a cool hotel and condo complex open to the public and in prime position for the beach.

The space

Forget about rustic or beachy vibes, Origami have gone full Bangkok-style with their sleek modern interiors and monochrome colour scheme.

With white brick walls, amber lights, floor to ceiling glass walls and white marble tables and plants, this place ticks all the boxes for an Instagram approved cafe!

And you get to enjoy your meal whilst overlooking the luxurious hotel swimming pool-  it doesn’t get much better.

The little things that made a difference

They have super comfy armchairs and sofas in the cafe too. Perfect if you prefer a more relaxed vibe, or if you’ve got kids who love to explore.

The fresh juice test

Origami call their green juice the ‘Detox Juice’. It’s packed with chinese kale, cucumber, celery, green apple, fresh lime, and topped with chia seeds.

It definitely got my seal of approval.

What else

Origami is beaming with natural light. As it’s a glass building, it’s always bright, fresh and uplifting…. A total dream for any food photographer or Insta foodie!

Origami also offer catering services for anyone in Phuket. They cover corporate events, private parties and work lunches and when their menu spans from Western food, all the way to Thai food.

What we ate

My absolute favourite dish on their menu is their Vietnamese spring rolls. These are rice paper rolls packed with tons of fresh veggies, Thai herbs and an amazing Thai peanut dipping sauce.

The sauce does have quite a kick… just a heads up for anyone who can’t handle spice!

To wash it down, I got their iced matcha latte (it just looked so pretty on their Instagram, I had to try one!)

They also serve our Nana Bowls, which is always a bonus when you’re craving something sweet and refreshing after a savoury meal.

I went for the Strawberry Bliss Smoothie Bowl – made with strawberry, coconut, banana and 15g of protein.

The bill

Detox juice – 150BHT each
Vietnamese spring rolls – 160BHT
Nana Bowl – 250BHT
Iced matcha – 65BHT

What we’d go back for…

As Origami is connected to the Saturday’s Residence, I got to enjoy their hotel yoga class too. Great food, a beautiful setting and yoga all in one.

I think that’s the perfect recipe to make anyone glow!
