Phuket, RawaiWilson's Cafe, the perfect beach café in Phuket

There’s a reason why Wilson’s Cafe is the most popular cafe in Phuket.

Everyone travelling to Rawai, in the south, wants the perfect beach hut cafe vibe, and Wilsons ticks all those boxes.

The cafe owner Jim Winter is Australian, and has brought the Aussie culture of good, healthy food and coffee to Phuket, adding his own unique Aussie spin to the menu!

The setting

Think rustic tables, restored wood, palm trees and comfy outdoor sofas. There’s also plenty of tables inside and the vital air con. It has a very laid back atmosphere, with your shoes left at the entrance, you can relax inside for hours. You’ll instantly feel right at home here and there’s wi-fi!

They also have the most amazing brightly coloured graffiti wall on the side of the cafe…

which is probably the most Instagrammed wall in the whole of Phuket!

The little things

The staff! The staff at Wilsons are some of nicest you will ever meet. Without fail, they will always greet all of their customers with a big hello and a warm smile.

It’s this team that makes everyone keep coming back.

The green juice test

Their signature green juice is called the ‘Green Machine’. It’s packed with celery, cucumber, kale, green apple and mint. It has the perfect balance of earthiness and sweetness…. You’ll feel the green glow even after the first sip.

What I ate

My go-to at Wilsons is always their garden salad. I then go for all the extras and add in items like avocado and poached eggs for extra deliciousness.

Their poached eggs are always cooked to perfection. If I’m feeling pretty hungry, I’ll also go for their smashed avocado.

I’m also a massive fan of their turmeric latte. They use a base of almond milk, turmeric powder, cinnamon for a really rich and creamy latte, without being too sweet. Their choc protein smoothie is also a massive winner if you fancy something a little more indulgent!

They also supply NanaBowls, which is always a bonus when you’re craving something sweet and refreshing after a savoury meal. I might be a little biased as I run the company, but Wilsons really do make NanaBowls the best… they’ve got the height, texture and creaminess down to a tee.

Another item I have to mention is Crunchbox! Wilsons have recently started supplying the well known Aussie dessert brand Crunchbox.

They create the most delicious raw vegan desserts, seriously the best I’ve ever tasted. Their Peanut Butter slice is always a go-to of mine (and everyone else’s apparently), but it’s hard to choose when they have a choice of Lemon Berry, Choc Mint, Strawberries & Cream, Salted Caramel, and Cookies & Cream! All these slices are 100% raw, vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free… but you’d never know!
